Our Leadership
Calvary Bible is organized in a way that recognizes the dual biblical principles of leadership. First, we recognize that Jesus Christ is the head of the church and He has ultimate authority over our lives. We recognize that he works in the lives of individual believers through the Holy Spirit to accomplish is purposes in this world. Second, we recognize that Jesus established leaders within his church to bring unity and direction for each church body. Jesus never intended to create "Lone Ranger" Christians nor did he intend to have manipulative controlling leaders. He desires his church to be led by Godly men and women who respect all members of the body as important and who listen to the Lord regarding direction for the local church.
Calvary Bible has a congregational form of government that is led by a General Board appointed by the congregation. This board consists of eight members who each oversee an area of ministy. We belive that the Lord has given spiritual gifts equally to both men and women to serve in leadership on our General Board. We believe the Scriptures reserves the roles of elder and senior pastor for men only.
For a complete description of each of these areas of ministry and their role in the church you may download a copy of our by-laws found at the bottom of our Statement of Faith page.
