Calvary Bible recognizes the dual biblical principles of leadership. We recognize the following: Jesus Christ is the head of the church; He has ultimate authority over our lives; He works in the lives of individual believers through the Holy Spirit to accomplish His purposes in this world; Jesus established leaders within His church to bring unity and direction; He desires His church to be led by Godly men and women who respect all members of the body and listen to the Lord regarding direction for the church's ministry and activities.
Calvary Bible has a congregational form of government which is led by a General Board appointed by the congregation. This board consists of eight members with each member having a specific role in the oversight of the church. Each of these positions with their respective leaders are listed below. Calvary Bible believes the Lord has given spiritual gifts equally to both men and women, therefore, we allow women to serve on the General Board. One area of leadership we believe the Scriptures reserves for men is the elder position, which includes the senior pastor.
For a complete description of each leadership position and its ministry in the church, please download a copy of the by-laws found at the bottom of our Statement of Faith page.
